Electric energy has become a really necessary indispensable thing for our life now.

It may be an energy level the same as water in a human being and food. A function of most cities does not function without electric energy. The human thought about various generation methods so far since electricity was invented.

Because Japan is the home where energy resources are poor, now I am stable, and the nuclear power generation that can supply much electric energy becomes the basics with a little fuel. Now Japan is next to U.S.A., France and becomes a nuclear power plant possession country of the third place world.

In this room, it is reproduced nuclear reactor indoor of the Ohi power station with a model of 1/3 size of the real thing. There is explanation of a role of each facilities and understands structure of nuclear power generation well.

Containment structure "Dome-type" is covered to several folds in a container made of concrete and steel.

In a reactor pressure vessel, there is a control rod controlling aggregate and thermal energy of the uranium which filled a good pipe of heat missionary work with the pellet which processed uranium.

A neutron hits an atomic nucleus of uranium in sequence in this, and nuclear fission happens. A coolant gets heat by the enormous thermal energy that I am similar then, and occurred and becomes boiling water of high temperature high pressure.

On that occasion it is made the water high pressure (about 157 atmospheric pressure) with pressurizer not to let water of a high temperature to take out heat in a nuclear reactor boil.

Boiling water of the high temperature high pressure that occurred in this nuclear reactor next is sent to a steam generator, and I can buy water drifting to another system for steam, and it is sent a steam line to a just what turbine and turns a dynamo, and electric energy is made.

I call this method a pressurization water reactor (PWR).

For example, when uranium 235 of 1g undergoes fission entirely, the same thermal energy occurs when I make it oil and do it to about 2,000 liters, coal and burnt about 3t.

The ohi power station has four nuclear reactors. There is 4,710,000 kw when I add quantity of four generation. It is maximum grade in Japan. I send electricity to the Kansai area with a power transmission line of 500,000V mainly.
