Lock & Dam #2, Mississippi River, US Army Corps of Engineers St. Paul District. Located on Mississippi River mile 815.2, upstream of Hastings, Minnesota, USA
Constructed in 1930. Lock walls settled and tilted which led to construction of a second lock completed in 1948. Site underwent major rehabilitation from 1987 to 1995.
Dam consists of a concrete structure 722 feet long with 19 tainter gates, 30 feet long. Dam has 4.4 megawatt power plant owned and operated by the city of Hastings. Earth embankment 3,000 feet long.
Lock is 110 feeet wide by 600 feet long.
