Cornell University, where I work full time, has established and promotes a diversity & inclusiveness initiative for students, staff, and faculty. Amongst the varied facets of this commitment is one that supports staff volunteering in the community.

It just so happened that a group of employees at University Communications, including Yours Truly, had arranged to assist the Cayuga Nature Center in preparing for a number of activities to be held on the solstice weekend.

About a dozen of us worked to clean windows and floors, organize storage areas, clear debris, pick up trash, apply mulch, pull weeds, etc., etc. We spent half a day lending our efforts toward improving the Center so that it would look its best to host weekend festivities.

The shed and garage where I worked most of that time did not lend themselves well to an immersive photo, so I chose to shoot the fabulous multi-story treehouse on the CNC property as shown in the imagery above. No doubt building that was a great deal of work!
