According to officials there is the worst flood in the last century in this region. Sudden flood hit the Northern part of Moravia in the Czech Republic without any warnings. There were more than 450 houses damaged or destroyed and 13 people died. Overall damage is calculated exceeding 6 billions CZK.

This picture was made above the most damaged village of Jeseník nad Odrou approximately 12 hours after the "tsunami“. The tidal wave was more than 5 meters high in the small creek with usual 50 cm of water. Almost all people from the affected villages lost everything in a very short time. Many of them saved their own life only. Their houses were flooded up to 3meters and they lost cars, furniture, clothes and all property hit by the water. I made more pictures in the region.Have a look here: http://www.virtualczech.cz/povoden-06-2009
