Caption
The Cerro El Ávila mountain range stands between the Caribbean Sea and the north side of Caracas, the capital of Venezuela.

It's a national park that is visited daily by hundreds of people, specially on weekends. Persons of all ages ascend the many trails that cross it in order to escape from the congested and polluted valley below. Visiting the mountain, where the tropical fauna and flora are exuberant, is a very relaxing experience for the mind and the spirit.

However, there aren't many spots with a good panoramic view of the city. This place is one of the few located at a moderate altitude that allows a spectacular vista of the capital.
