While trying to decide what to photograph for this event I came up with several possibilities. Some were one time events that did not fit into my schedule. Others could be done at any time but with more thought were dropped for various reasons. I photographed a few subjects but then realized that my workplace fit the theme the best. I work at a newspaper. The newsroom is divided into various areas according to sections of the paper or by other work to be done to get the paper out everyday, either in print or on-line. Each of these sections is like a family and when combined become a community. There are over 100 computers in the newsroom. The switch tucked away in a closet ties the whole community together-allowing communication between different members of the community, other areas of the building, and to the outside world.
