The community of Nunn, Colorado, lies in the northeast part of the state, 30 miles south of the Wyoming border. It has a population of around 400 residents. Its most distinguishing landmark to motorists passing by is the water tower, built in 1921, with the slogan "Watch Nunn Grow" written on opposite sides.

The slogan "Watch Nunn Grow" was coined following the completion of a new ditch that was supposed to supply water to the community and nearby areas from the Laramie River in Wyoming. Unfortunately, the only water Nunn received was from two test runs. The State of Wyoming decided to keep the water from the river within its own borders. Without the water flowing in the ditch, the expected growth never materialized.
