Losang Dragpa Centre is a residential Buddhist college and meditation centre, which attracts an international community of students. It is sited in Dobroyd Castle, a 19th century house overlooking the Upper Calder valley. The castle is spectacular, but has suffered from lying empty for several years. The current tenants are trying to restore the property to its former glory. As a result the centre recently held an open day and fair, to raise both funds and awareness for the restoration of the building. I attended on a glorious summer's day, where the cool stone interior provided relief from the sun, and this tranquil picture too.
