As Vancouver prepares for the Olympics the growing pains are starting to hurt. Construction of the Canada line was supposed to be a bored tube. Somehow the politicians changed tune and went with the low bid on the construction using a cut and cover technique. The small businesses are leaving and the unique character of the neighborhood is gone.
