When John Strobel moved into his hillside home in Lanikai the property was covered with haole koa and weeds. For the past seven years John has been tranforming the steep hillside property into a unique and beautiful garden. His frequent trips to nearby nurseries have resulted in a colorful mix of colors and textures.
The garden has several varieties of hibiscus, including the yellow “Hula Girl” next to the house. Other plants featured are: oyster plants, spider plants, dracaena, yucca, gardenia, Song of India, crotons, bromeliad, lobster claw, ivy, ape, and areca palms.
