Nested in the middle of Lyon downtown in the middle of the the museum of Fine arts, this garden was the theater of my child’s first adventures. We came on Wednesday or after school with buddies from the area. This closed universe appeared immense in our eyes. I remember the carps of the fountain ; we gave them names but appeared inattentive with our bread crumbs. I remember these interminable plays of hide-and-seek between the pillars of the long dark corridor which surrounds the garden. Sometimes some frigthening scaffolding - prohibited city - were stored in this immense corridor without end and one dared to approach some fear of falling nose to nose with I do not know which monster. Astonishing high fantastic sculptures stood everywhere between hedges and flower beds as phantoms which waited only the night to play mysterious games, as many strategic reference marks to our gendarmes and robbers plays. But the more frightening in this universe without exit connect was the guard. A corpulent guy with a broad red face. Its weapon was a silver plated whistle hung around his neck which shone on its dark blue costume. Prohibited to go on the lawn, prohibited to climb on the statues…
