Corregidor Island, Philippines. The 2nd most bombed island in the Pacific region during World War 2. The last island to fall in the Philippines at the height of Japanese invasion. This is where Gen. Douglas McArthur uttered his famous words "I shall return" before leaving for Australia. Now the island is a tourist attraction at the mouth of Manila Bay, old gun emplacements that still stood guard amist over 50 years in time. The scene herein is the Japanese memorial garden, the almost dry pond is the result of prolonged hot climate in the country. On the left side, old guns that are still "standing guard".
