Xeriscape (pronounced Zer-i-scape) is derived from the Greek word Xeros which means "dry". The goal of Xeriscape is to create a visually attractive landscape that uses plants that are water efficient thereby saving water.

This garden area is 6,400 square feet or 730 square meters. It was designed and started in 2003, completed in April 2004 with an expected maturity in 2006.

Xeriscape is involves 7 elements: Planning and design, soil analysis, practical turfed (grass) areas, plant selection, efficient irrigation, use of mulch, minimum maintenance.

Sample plant common names list : Green Santolina, Autumn Sage, Dwarf Red Barberry, Sedum, Dwarf Lantana, Wheeler's Dwarf Pittosporum, Yaupon Holly, Day Lilly, Soft White Yucca, and Red Yucca, and Texas adapted Banana Trees.
