Gaudi's parque Güell is like a huge cake waiting for an unborn giant's birthday party where we would just be the Smarties decoration in the cream. It is, still now, hard to believe that Gaudi's contribution to world architecture was ever possible in the 20's, with curves defying gravity and an unmatched attention for colorful details. He envisioned things only dreamt of in tales and was given the means to build them, his legacy is breathtaking.
Unfortunately, as for many Unesco sites in Europe, photography is strictly forbidden as it is a source of important revenue for the greedy copyright holders and the needy state museums. But fortunately the parque Güell being in the open air, it is impossible to control access and the Catalans would not tolerate it to become a state museum, the parque Güell having been built for and given to the citizens of Barcelona.
This action shot was taken at the main entrance.
