Most of us use the decimal numeral system also called base ten and most of the units rely upon this system. Take for instance the liter or "litre " : a word which is derived from an older French unit, the litron. A lot of drinking glasses and small bottles capacities are given in centiliters or deciliters such as for example in Switzerland. Thus in the Valais canton it's not unusual to order a "deci of Fendant" (a wine grape variety). On the panorama below one could see vineyard near Vevey above Lake Leman. Cheers ! Here's to you...
