Taken at 6:40 am, just before dawn, this street view, just off the southwest corner of the plaza in Santa Fe, New Mexico, shows just a few of the many store window displays designed to entice and test the limits of the purses of all who visit. Being outside the limits of normal store hours, this time of day was particularly beneficial to the photographer as the plaza was devoid of people allowing leisurely and unimpeded tripod setup on what are usually the busiest sidewalks and streets in the state.
Bracketed exposures were taken for each segment of the scene to produce the High Dynamic Range (HDR) panorama allowing for a much greater range of tonal detail than the tonal limits that would have resulted from the use of a single-exposure images in each segment.
I have made the non-stop (except for fuel) 700-mile drive from my home in Austin, Texas, to Santa Fe many times and it is always a test of numerous limits to both man and machine.
