A cube is limited to 90-degree angles. The color cube from the outside is the reciprocal of the color cube from the inside (see Inside the Duo-Tet Color Cube, September, 2008). It is also the container or exterior related geometry of the Best of 2008 entry (see Working Model of the Duo-Tet, December, 2008).

The color cube is made up of 256 colors. Each of the six faces is limited to 6x6=36 color squares. So the object represented is limited in shape and number of colors. This is a Netscape or web color cube in which each color is specified exactly.

What is the location of the color cube? Yes, it is on the computer. I had said "spectrum" but then realized that the magenta, white, and black vertexes are "extra-spectral". As far as I can find, they do not exist as separate wavelengths in the spectrum of colored light. The color cube relates directly to a color wheel system.
