When my wife Susan heard about the WWP theme "Food" she immediately suggested mother's milk - the most basic food for us mammals.

So I asked nursing mothers in our community to participate. There was enthusiastic response, and 9 mothers and infants showed up at our home for the shoot. They are, from the wood stove clockwise:

Kate and Nicola, Megan and Charlie, Melanie and Tinaye, Katie and Taleiha, Lisa and Alden, Hanna and Levi, Natalia and Sophia, Amanda and Zakaya, Cedar and Aya.

My profound thanks to all the mothers and children for their participation and patience, and to Susan Cogan for the inspired suggestion.
