ENGLISH AND FRENCH CAPTIONS FRANÇAIS San Sebastian est une sorte de petit paradis pour gourmets et gourmands de toute nature: non seulement il y a deux restaurants trois étoiles Michelin ici (pas mal pour une ville avec moins de 200.000 habitants): il y en a un troisième à la toute proche Lasarte (10 km). Plus populaires, les sagardotegiak locales (cidreries) sont Une autre formidable attraction. Elles reçoivent une incroyable quantité de visiteurs pendant l'hiver, avant que le cidre ne soit mis en bouteilles lorsque la température s'adoucit à l'arrivée du printemps. Des groupes d'amis et des familles s'y réunissent pour déjeuner ou dîner et goûter au nouveau cidre de l'année. La convivialité y est plus que remarquable, ce qui les a rendues extrèmement populaires et un must pour les visiteurs (demandez à nos voisins français!) Mais ce qu'il y a de plus populaire et ce qui fait un des moments forts pour la plupart de nos visiteurs ce sont les bars... et leurs pintxos, ainsi nommés parce qu'à l'origine on les mangeait tous à láide d'un cure-dent. Maintenant il y des pintxos bien plus élaborés, une vraie cuisine-miniature s'est développée ici (que par la suite l'on a imité largement partout ailleurs). Les touristes ici se sont faits un devoir que d'avoir un repas à base de pintxos: vous entrez dans les bars de votre choix et vous mangez les pintxos que vous voulez. Ce qui n'est vraiment pas évident, que faire ce choix! L'Ancienne Ville (le Vieux Quartier) est peut-être le meilleur choix pour un répas-pintxos, bien qu'il y a partout dans la ville d'excellents bars. Voilà pourquoi j'ai décidé d'aller faire mon panorama là-bas. En fait, j'en ai fait quatre. La journée étant un peu triste (la météo annonçait des averses, et il a plu juste après avoir fini mes photos), tout a l'air un peu triste et grisâtre. ENGLISH CAPTION San Sebastian has won a reputation in Spain (and elsewhere) for being something like a little paradise for food lovers of every kind: not only are there two restaurants boosting three Michelin stars (not bad for a city with less than 200,000 inhabitants) but there is a third one in the nearby location of Lasarte, just 10 km away. A more popular great attraction are the local sagardotegiak (cidreries). They get an incredible amount of visitors during the winter time, before the cider is put into bottles when the weather begins to get warm in the springtime. Groups of friends and families get together and go there for lunching or dining and having a taste of what the new cider is like this year. The atmosphere is really lively there, which makes them very popular and a must for visitors (ask our French neighbours!) But the most popular of all and what makes one of the highlights for most of our visitors are the bars, the common bars and their pintxos: these were so-called because originally they all had a toothpick stuck in it. Now there are far more complex preparations, a real miniature cuisine has been developed originally here (now it is widely imitated anywhere). One of the tourists' musts here is having your lunch by visiting two or three bars and having the pintxos of your fancy. But choosing them may be really hard! The most popular place to go and have a pintxos lunch is the Old Quarter, although anywhere here you may find some excellent bars, that's why I decided to go and shoot a pano there. In fact I shot four. The day was a rather gloomy one, the weather report predicted rain, and it rained shortly after I shot my panos, so everything in them is rather sad and greyish.
