The City of Bellingham is about 40 miles south of the Canadian border and anyone who wants to can rent a small area in about an acre set aside for vegetable gardens. These are called Pea Patches, and they allow those who have no garden space where they live to grow their own vegetables. This view was shot at 11:00 AM local time on March 19th, so the garden is still in the dormant stage. It will be filled with greenery in about a month's time and produce fruits and vegetables well into the fall.
