I could not think of a more diverse location for this theme than Larson Salvage Company in Bay City, Michigan. It's a locally owned family business which provides a playground of hardware supplies (and more!) for the builder, do-it-yourselfer, artist, or just plain creative person.

Where else can you peruse saw blades, hats, mats, phone cables, bungee cords, rat poison and paint from the same spot? I've been shopping here since childhood and have always been able to find materials and inspiration for whichever project or crazy invention that has me consumed at the moment.
