This beautiful park is located in a light industrial area atop an old city landfill. Well cared for and clean, the only visible remains of the past are the vents located throughout the area. Today Kakaako Waterfront Park is a very enjoyable park on the island that's frequently used as backdrops for wedding and other photo shoots.

In the early mornings it is not unusual to find joggers and walkers along with SCUBA divers and shoreline fisherman casting their lines for the day. The park is also the entrance for a popular surfing spot called "Point Panic."

The best time of day to visit park is during sunset when the procession of dinner sailboats begins to pass though the harbor entrance for an evening at sea. The unobstructed sunset views are memorable.
