As the result of a centuries-old history Tallinn represents the synthesis of various cultures; Swedish, German, Danish, Russian and, of course, Estonian. Because of the variety of architectural styles and a European "appearance" the city is used to shoot many Soviet films where the story takes place in Western Europe.

Now the city has an abundance of architectural and historical monuments, and modern entertainment, that draw tourists from across Europe.
