This neighborhood was destroyed some time ago, and although I don't know the history you can see a glimpse of the past using Google Earth. You can see evidence of some previous homes to the west and to the north-northwest (pyramid shapes are the remnants of the roofs), and it appears that some of the homes visible in Google Earth are now what you see as those piles of rubble. To the south you see new homes being built by Habitat For Humanity, in various states of completion. The people receiving these new homes are experiencing their own beginnings, for which they work very hard. The spot from which the photography is taken was chosen for its representation of the cycle... between the end and the beginning. Note the hints of an old road that used to bisect the neighborhood just to the south of the viewpoint. The road closing actually helps keep this neighborhood safer for the residents; one can only assume the powers-that-be decided the road should go. Given the nature of the surrounding neighborhoods, I concure with that decision. I expect the "village" to continue to grow for the next couple of years, completing a new beginning for each lot and each family, and continuing the cycle once more. The white trailer in front of the closest home shows the Habitat For Humanity logo; unfortunately I did not realize the resolution would not allow it to be recognizable.
