I intended to shoot the sunrise, complete with Technicolor clouds over the Atlantic Ocean on that cloudy Sunday morning. However, on the way to the beach, I stopped short. I was arrested by the sight of the two shower stations, bathed by yellow street lights and the blue predawn light. They stood like monuments. They were wrapped in a cocoon of plastic sheeting that snapped and crackled in the wind. There it was, the empty playground, the sounds of the wind and the ocean, and a padlocked door in the changing room building that thumped in the wind, atmosphere!
