This panorama was shot at the overlook near the summit of White Oak Mountain. This location is on the Blue Ridge Escarpment, which is the border between the mountains and the piedmont region of North Carolina and South Carolina. Visibility was reasonably good, though one can see much further into South Carolina on a very clear day.
