In the sky a giant garden hose marks the border between night and day.

The "Gartenschlauch" (Garden Hose), 1983 by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen is located in the "Eschholzpark" in Freiburg im Breisgau, at the Western Slope of the Black Forest. This sculpture is one of my favourite panoramic sites. With strong dynamics the hose loops 10 m high over the head of the observer. This impetus is best perceived, when the apex of the loop is in the zenith of the observers field of view.

The "night panorama" was taken at 5:50 CET and the "day panorama" was taken at 7:00 CET. The snow in town has just melted away, the hills of the Black Forest are still covered with snow and it was quite cold, when waiting for sunrise.
