This panorama shows a marketplace of beliefs, the Vienna's place of heroes, where 250.000 sold their soul by cheering on March 15, 1938 as Adolf Hitler announced the "homecoming of Austria" to the German Reich while the Gestapo was hunting down political opponents and Jews.

Between March 12 and May 8, 2005 an installation on the balcony where Hitler made his speech remembers this event and also remembers the victims of the nazi regime. The two big brick cubes cover the statues of Prinz Eugen and Erzherzog Karl to remember the last years of World War II when these statues were completely bricked, to protect them from bomb splinters and to hide their politically challenging presence.

The installations are part of the 25peaces project for the Austrian "Commemorative Year 2005".
