In the French colonies, slavery has been abolished since 1848. But today, such treatments are still existing for thousands of people all over the world.
This image is a graphic rendering of a manuscript list dated 1824 and entitled " Census of Marie Anne Thérèse Ombline Gonneau Montbrun Veuve Desbassyns estate ". It was a cane-sugar estate, converted today into museum.
The original photographs of the panorama have been made from the artwork of ceramists Claude Berlie-Caillat, Michel Delprete and Omer Résic, which present this list on a memorial installed in the museum.
