From the terrace of the library overlooking the weekly market on the Binnerotte.

This market is here every week and is situated in the center of Rotterdam where the city started its roots in 1340. On this point the first dam was build in the river the Rotte and here the first harbour activities started. Now Rotterdam is the biggest port of Europe and was the biggest port of the world for many years.

At this market the 190 nationalities of rotterdam do their shopping and its a lively place.
