I wanted to create a panorama with 4 different views on the "Marketplace" theme. First of all you see the cargo ships getting into the port of Antwerp (second largest in Europe). Without transport and infrastructure the entire world market would be completely different. When you pan to the right you see the nuclear power plant located in Doel (Belgium). The energy markets are marketplaces that are less visible but very important. The other parts of the panorama show mainly agriculture and nature. Agriculture is of course an import worldwide market but for certain products very local because of the different tastes and habits. These photos are taken next to Saeftinghe. A tidal estuary of the River Schelde with mudflats, sandbanks and raised saltmarsh (Verdronken Land van Saeftinghe, 3,500 ha), and the only estuary in south-west Netherlands which will be allowed to remain open to the sea. The estuary is 60 km long from the Belgian border up to the North Sea, and is adjacent to the Voordelta (020) in the west.
