This goes to show what, in different degrees, is happening worldwide.
'La bretxa' was one of the main market places in San Sebastián, built where the city's old walls stood up (it's from a breach in them that it took its name). Farmers from all around would come and sell their vegs and flowers here... until recent times.
The old building had become too big, and the city had to come up with the changing world. As the walls and the general outer look were preserved, inside everything had to be changed. Now big brands' stuff and fashionable boutiques, irish, italian or tropical looking bars, fast food places and big food malls have stormed the premises. Feels like you're in the middle of anywhere... or rather nowhere at all at the same time.
This pano shows the local farmers' place nowadays. Because they're always there. Outside, though. In the shadow.
