This year was the second year for the Big Egg Hunt but its first for touring outside London. The tour visited a number of UK cities first starting in London before heading to Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow and finally returning to London again, each time staying for about a week. When the tour rolled into a city it brought with it 103 brightly decorated eggs which were then spread throughout an area, some easy to find, others not so.

The project approached a number of artists and provided each of them with an egg to decorate, however they saw fit. Some took a very minimal approach while others undertook a major overhaul, but they all added their own touch to their egg. The real fun didn't start until you tried to find them. The majority, for Birmingham, were placed in Victoria Square with the rest being scattered between other open spaces and shops. Some were in small clusters while others were by themselves. Luckily the organizers provided you with a small guide but didn't provide detailed instructions to where each were.

All this was done in support of the charity "Action for Children". If you found that you liked any of the eggs enough then each had a number and QR code so that you were able to bid for it. On top of this a small amount was charged for each guide to help raise additional money.
