The Carson National Forest encompasses 1.5 million acres in northern New Mexico with elevations that rise from 6,000 feet to 13,161 feet at Wheeler Peak, the highest point in the state. This view is at the forest boundary in Hondo Canyon, just east of Valdez on State Road 150 and at the start of the 8 mile climb up to Taos Ski Valley. Severe drought conditions and the 156,000 acre Las Conchas Fire in the nearby Santa Fe National Forest prompted the Forest Service to initiate restrictions and close many forest areas for any usage.
Equipment
Canon 5DII, Sigma 10mm (shaved), Nodal Ninja 5, PTGui Pro, Pano2VR
