This award-winning and unusual Tempe Arizona City Hall was completed in 1970. The unique shape conserves energy by allowing less light into the building. It was designed by local architects Michael and Kemper Goodwin and received awards from the American Institute of Steel Contractors and the Western Mountain Region of the American Institute of Architects. This upside down pyramid is a good example of the unique style of architecture that took place in the '70s.
