Studenec Hill ( 736m ) is situated in Lužické hory near the border with Czech Switzerland. Czech Switzerland is a picturesque region in the northwestern Czech Republic. The adjacent hilly region to the northwest is called the Lusatian Highlands (Lužické hory). The Studenec tower was build in 1888 and completely renovated in 2008. All is from the original iron, only some parts, mainly on the bottom of the tower, were replaced. Lookout towers are very popular in the Czech Republic and they are mostly used for enjoying the view into the country. Here is the Czech page about our lookout towers (Google English translation).
