The Lengenbach mine is located in the lovely Binn Valley south of the upper Rhone valley in the Swiss Alps. It provides some very rare minerals only found there, one of which is named after the mine: Lengenbachit.

The burden dump can be searched by anyone. It is a popular target for families, since the soft, white dolomite contains a lot of small, glittering pyrite crystals. My sons had very much fun digging for crystals and helping a family with smaller children making "glitter sand".
