On the uninhabited island of Vementry, Shetland, are the remains of two World Ward One naval guns and their associated bunkers. These guns overlook what was once an important anchorage for the British Royal Navy.

I was lucky enough to be able to spend an astonishing day entirely alone exploring this island which is not generally accessible to the public. My thanks to local farmer Hamish.
