The High Velocity Sports Bar at the JW Marriott San Antonio features immense screens along the entire length of the bar in a wave several feet high. This and the news ticker below it constituted the main challenges of photographing this interior. Fortunately, the ticker was able to be stopped for several seconds during the shoot. The trick was to find happy news all the way across. The TV images on the wave all stay in place as they are projected from individual projectors above the windows on the opposite wall. Unfortunately this could only be shot in the middle of the day, else the screens and images would be much stronger. Broad daylight provided flare conditions and weakened the screens' images as well. Then, we couldn't have any logos on any TVs or screens. This clean and simple result is testament to both the technical and client-liaising issues a photographer needs to bridge in the hospitality industry. This is the largest JW Marriott property at this time, fittingly located in Texas' Hill Country, where big is big.

As usual, I used 10% of one human brain, a Nikon D200 (dropped), Sigma 8mm (cracked), Bogen carbon fiber tripod (awesome), Kaidan QuickPan V (out of business), PTMAC (switching to PTGui), and Photoshop, Photoshop, Photoshop.
