Velenje Coal Mine is one of the largest and still-operating mine site in Europe. The longwall face is 200m long and is the largest longwall face of a coal mine in Europe. The new longwall face is under construction and the current one operating since May, 2010, which is displayed on the pano is going to be closed. The longface is over 400m below the Earth's surface and the pressure is enormous. You can feel and hear the cracking of the Earth. I had a task to visualize the complete longwall face, the construction works of the new long face and other vital points of the coalmine. The task was really very risky because of the methane and it happened that I had to stop with the work due the high level of methane the carbon monoxide. I had the help of engineers and coal miners which are present in the pano. With the closeup you can see the collapsed tunnel which had collapsed two weeks ago, just a one week after I started with the work.
