July 6, 2009, 11:35 pm, waiting for the water taxi in Venice. The Moon was full and the tide was unusually high. It was doubtful if the taxis could get under many of the small bridges to come and take us to our hotel. So while we waited, I took this panorama.

Some in our group suggested that we walk a few hundred meters to the Grand Canal where we could catch the Vaporetto. I'm glad we didn't as the taxi did come and it was a delightful trip back to the hotel under the bright Moon.
