Convent of Santa Maria in Valle, or convent of Orsoline (they are nuns), situated in Cividale del Friuli: this is the Refectory room. You can find recent furniture (benches and tables), while, close to the left wall the wood pulpit made in 1700/1800. On the ceiling you can admire three frescos painted in the XVIII Century by an unknown artist (probably from Francesco Chiarottini’s school: he was a famous local painter). The central scene is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin among jubilant angels: this is the scene at the beginning of this pano. On the left and on the right there are two paintings representing scenes of St. Benedetto’s and St. Scolastica’s lives...... Enjoy. (Many thanx to Antonella for her help)

Convento di Santa Maria in Valle, ovvero convento delle Orsoline (ordine monacale) in Cividale del Friuli: questa e’ la sala del Refettorio. Ha arredi recenti (panche e tavoli) mentre, addossato alla parete sinistra si trova un pulpito ligneo sette-ottocentesco. Sul soffitto si possono ammirare tre affreschi del XVIII secolo, di artista sconosciuto (forse dell’ambito di Francesco Chiarottini – pittore cividalese): le due fascette laterali raffigurano scene della vita di S. Benedetto e S. Scolastica; la scena centrale è dedicata all’Assunzione della Vergine tra angeli festanti: e’ proprio la scena che si puo’ vedere all’inizio... Godetevela.
