If you choose to make the ascent to Neuschwanstein Castle by bus, the route ends above the castle, which requires a short walk downhill.

But it also offers the opportunity, before descending, of one short variant that allows you to get to the bridge of Maria, Marienbrücke, in order to observe this wonderful sight. Although in this case this side of the castle was being restored.

Beyond the bridge the trail continues to climb the hill opposite the castle, but in about 10' offers a small deviation in one last chance to get a view from a higher point.
