On October 25, we participated in a peculiar protest. Our current government decided to tax telecommunications with an additional 3% "luxury tax" over our current fee.

The Internet community, mainly of Twitter users, protested immediately and organized photoshoots of people all around the country to convince our congress that Internet isn't a luxury but an essential tool.

Participants were asked to either gather in public places for group shots portraying their work gear or to shoot themselves at home with their main communication equipment.

We accomplished the goal of stopping this particular tax to Internet access, but other means of telecommunications (such as telephone and cable TV) will cost more starting January, 2010.
