We stopped the car and I ran quite a bit further than I expected to stand on a scary slope of loose gravel above an abrupt dropoff to the Mendoza River. A strange haze had crept in along the Andes as the sun set and I really wanted to capture it. The wind was whipping like crazy and I had to keep telling myself that the panorama was going to be worth the effort and the risk. When I stitched it later it was even better than I had hoped. I give much credit to our guide and driver Javier Caruso. Even though we were running late and using up way too much of his time for a simple day trip into the Andes, he said, "I know you want to shoot this! I will stop the car here and wait for you." Thank you, Javier!
