The Oa in the south of Islay, Inner Hebrides, is a headland formerly occupied by farmers and crofters before the Clearances in 1830. It is now designated as an RSPB nature reserve and Special Protection Area (SPA) for the protection of the chough.

The American Monument commemorates the loss of two troop ships in 1918 and was erected by the American Red Cross in 1920. It is 131 meters high.
