During our camping trip to the Canadian Rockies in August, the weather turned out to be decidedly colder and wetter than expected. Cold rain and snow in the high country finally drove us to seek lower, and warmer, places to explore. In Mount Revelstoke National Park, we came across this boardwalk trail through an ancient grove of giant cedars, in the world's only temperate inland rain forest, nestled in the Columbia River valley. A light mist and fog above the trees created an almost reverent silence and a glowing atmosphere to this special place.
