all contributions |
| Adobe Flash Player 10.1 or newer | most (not all, some contributions are QTVR-only due to historical reasons) |
| Javascript + HTML5 / WebGL | many, but depends on photographer's choice of file upload (newer event = more likely to work) and your device's capabilities. You may experience slow playback, distorted images or unexpected browser quitting if there is only limited memory/GPU power available. |
For reasons too embarrassing to relate, I had been led to believe the Winter Solstice was on Dec. 22nd this year at 8:08 PM, Hawaii time. My brother Brooks and I were to be talking on the phone at precisely 8:08 when we were to shoot our QTVRs for the "Wrinkle in Time" event, but realized way too late that we missed it. So I waited and went ahead anyway (on the 22nd), just 24 hours late! I liked the result so much I decided to make it my "Best of 2007" entry.
I shot at 1/5 sec at f3.5, stitched in PTGUI, rendered the QTVR in Cubic Converter and did a tiny amount of tweaking in Photoshop CS3.
