In 1883, the Chijin Lighthouse was constructed on the summit of Chihou Mountain. This approximately 11-meter high, octagonal shaped, lighthouse was completely re-modeled in 1918. It has been classified as a third-class historic site and is also called "Kaohsiung Lighthouse."
