Caption

The Marin Headlands is a very popular spot to view 4th of July festivities in San Francisco so I arrived early to assure a spot to park. I quickly realized I was too close to the bridge for the image I wanted so walked about a mile up the hill where I setup and made some test shots.

I'd had some success with shooting handheld panoramas with my 70-200mm lens earlier in the year in New York and Las Vegas, hand assembling them in Adobe Photoshop, so I knew I could do the same with the six images shot here (25 seconds each at F/7.1) using a tripod.

How can I …?

… Look around?

Place your mouse pointer over the picture.
Press and hold the mouse button.
Move the mouse slowly to spin the view.
Release the mouse button to stop moving.
Zoom with mouse wheel or shift/ctrl or pinch/spread

… Make the picture bigger?

Tap the zoom icon in the bottom right corner of the picture to switch between in-page and fullscreen view
Note: This will reload a high resolution version, if necessary.

… Browse to another panorama?

Choose any of these options to navigate:

Use the links in the green menu bar at the top
Slide the dotted area in the info header to the left or right (not for IE7)
Use the left/right arrows at the sides of the panorama (if visible)
Use the lists: A-Z, Region, Thumbnails, Map

No picture / broken picture?

You need one of these:

A recent browser with Javascript and support for WebGL, HTML5, Flash or QuicktimeVR.
Desktop PC/Mac: Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Apple Safari
iOS devices: built-in web browser
Android Tablets, Mobiles: Google Chrome strongly recommended.
Warning: Panoramas are big pictures. Insufficient RAM may cause your browser to quit unexpectedly!
If your browser does not support HTML5, try:
Adobe Flash Player version 10 or better
For some panoramas made before 2009:
Quicktime VR plugin, which is part of Quicktime 7

Most Panoramas will work on most mobile and desktop devices.
